Women's Golf Gears Up for Landfall Tradition

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State women's golf is gearing up for its last event of the fall season, the Landfall Tradition hosted by UNC-Wilmington. The event will be played October 24-26 at The Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina. The Pete Dye-designed course plays at 6,159 yards with a par of 72.

Joining the Nittany Lions in the 18-team tournament are: Alabama, Arizona, UCF, Duke, Florida, Michigan State, N.C. State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, UNC-Wilmington, Virginia, Wake Forest.

Penn State will be fielding a younger team than usual with seniors Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ontario) and Erin Michel (Mason, Ohio). Junior Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario) looks to follow up her solid performance at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships last week. Sophomore Kendall Allen (Pittsburgh, Pa.) hopes to make a mark at the Landfall Tradition with her first time in the lineup this year. Freshman Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Ireland) seeks to continue her impressive play in her third tournament of the year.

Alabama looks to defend their title, which they won by eight strokes last year. However, they will have to do it without last year's individual winner Stephanie Meadow, who graduated after the 2013-14 season.

Friday's tee times will commence at 8:21 a.m. with players going off the first and 10th hole. Penn State will tee of at 9:15 a.m. on the 10th hole.
