WILMINGTON, N.C. - Freshman Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Ireland) paced the Penn State women's golf team as it completed the second round of the Landfall Tradition. The Nittany Lions sit in 18th place with a two-day total of 316 strokes (+28). The final day of play will begin tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun.
Coyle Diez fired a three-over 75 for a two-day total of 152 (+8) to enter the day tied for 65th. Senior Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ontario) kept her consistent play going with a six-over 78 that included par on 12 holes. She is tied for 75th with a 154 (+10) after two days.
Sophomore Kendall Allen (Pittsburgh, Pa) used three birdies on her back nine to secure a 79 (+7). Rounding out the Nittany Lions was junior Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario) and senior Erin Michel (Mason, Ohio) who both finished with 84s.
After the second day of play Wake Forest is now tied with Oklahoma State at one-under (575). Individually, Ashley Holder of UCF overtook South Carolina's Nanna Madsen, firing a two-under (70) to bring her total 137 (-5). Madsen is one stroke behind (138).
