UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Nov. 10, 2014 - The Penn State women's soccer team was picked as a No. 2 seed for the NCAA Tournament, hosting Buffalo in the opening round on Fri., Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m.

This is the Nittany Lions' 20th-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

"Hosting a postseason game at Jeffrey Field is what these guys dream of," head coach Erica Walsh said. "When they sit in the stands as a recruit and they dream of playing on Jeffrey Field, this is a dream coming to reality. This is everything that they've worked for, and I'm thrilled that this team has garnered such respect on a national level."

The Bulls (16-2-3) advance to their first-ever NCAA Tournament after earning the program's first Mid-American Conference tournament championship. One of the best defensive teams in the postseason field, Buffalo produced 14 clean sheets this season, posting the 11th-best save percentage (.866) and 12th-lowest goals against average (.585) in the nation.

All-time, Penn State is 2-0 against Buffalo, with the teams meeting in 1994 and 1995.

"The team has worked for this opportunity," Walsh said. "I'd love to see them rewarded for all of their hard work."
