UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Freshman Caitlin Reilly (Chanhassen, Minnesota) was named the College Hockey America (CHA) Rookie of the Week for Nov. 17 after a two-goal performance at RIT this weekend.
This is the second weekly honor of her career.
Reilly scored two goals including the overtime game winner in the 3-2 weekend finale win at RIT. She put the Nittany Lions on the board with 2:19 left in the first period after tapping in the 1-0 goal from the top of the slot. Her second goal came three minutes into overtime when her shot from behind the goal line bounced off of Ali Binnington's back and in to the net. She took nine shots in the victory, tied for the season-high by any Nittany Lion. In the first game, she recorded two shots.
Reilly's last weekly honor of the season came on Oct. 20 when she earned her first CHA Rookie of the Year award.
After their three-week road swing, the Nittany Lions return to Pegula Ice Arena for a weekend series on Fri., Nov. 21 and Sat., Nov 22 against Lindenwood.
