UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - On Saturday, Penn State student-athletes from a number of teams scattered across the parking lots of Beaver Stadium to thank the many fans and donors who have helped make their college careers so successful.
The Varsity `S' Club again sponsored this year's Thank-A-Thon to show those who contribute to Penn State Athletics how truly appreciated they are.
Senior member of the women's gymnastics team Alex Witt talked about what it means to receive so much support.
"Just the fact that these people donate what they can, we're truly appreciative," Witt said. "The smallest bit counts, in more than anyone can imagine."
P.J. Musico, a senior Goalie for the men's hockey team, also commented on the event.
"Without the kindness of these people, we wouldn't be here," Musico said. "So it's important for us to give back to those who help."
The Varsity `S' Club sponsors several events throughout the year, and contributes to preserving the traditions of being a Penn State student-athlete, long after the uniforms are turned in.
