UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Nittany Lion Club members are able to begin requesting tickets for Penn State's possible bowl destination prior to the December 7 bowl announcement. Penn State is eligible to participate in its 45th bowl game and ranked ninth nationally in bowl appearances entering this season.
As a benefit of membership, Nittany Lion Club members can log onto Account Manager at: GoPSUsports.com/bowlcentral to review the listing of the Big Ten-affiliated bowl games Coach James Franklin's Nittany Lions could be selected to play in. Nittany Lion Club members can then select the bowls they are interested in purchasing tickets for. Credit cards will not be charged until Penn State's bowl destination and opponent are announced on Dec. 7.
Nittany Lion Club members also can call 1-800-NITTANY, weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., to request bowl tickets. NLC members have until 5 p.m. on Dec. 9 to request their bowl tickets. The ability to request tickets does not guarantee a Nittany Lion Club member will receive tickets from Penn State's allotment.
Should any tickets from Penn State's bowl allotment remain available after the Nittany Lion Club sale, the public can purchase bowl tickets starting at 10 a.m. on December 10 at GoPSUsports.com/bowlcentral or 1-800-NITTANY.
The Big Ten has several new bowl affiliations this year, including the National University Holiday Bowl in San Diego (Dec. 27), the Foster Farms Bowl in San Francisco (Dec. 30) and the New Era Pinstripe Bowl in New York City (Dec. 27). Tickets are available for Penn State's final game of the regular season, against No. 11 Michigan State on Nov. 29, with a 3:30 p.m. kick in Beaver Stadium. The Nittany Lions and Spartans will be meeting for the first time since 2010 and the 29th time overall, with the winner claiming the Land Grant Trophy.
A special group of Penn State seniors will be introduced to the Beaver Stadium faithful in a pre-game ceremony that annually is one of the highlights of the season. The 2014 seniors have been instrumental in the Nittany Lions earning a 30-17 on-field record the past four years under unprecedented circumstances, with three winning seasons and an opportunity for a fourth during their careers.
Tickets are available for the Michigan State game at PSUnrivaled.com, calling 1-800-NITTANY weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or at the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office (weekdays, 10 a.m-6 p.m.). The Beaver Stadium ticket office, near Gate E, opens four hours before kickoff for all Penn State home games.
The Beaver Stadium parking lots will open at 8 a.m. for the Michigan State game, with the team arrival at approximately 1:00 p.m. The public gates will open at 2:00 p.m.
Penn State (6-4) is coming off a 30-13 victory over Temple, as the Nittany Lions ran for a season-high 254 yards and forced five turnovers. The Nittany Lions visit Illinois for a 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT kick Saturday on ESPN2.
Penn State football average home attendance is up 5,870 per game this fall compared to the first six games of 2013, for an average of 101,909 this season. More than 6,000 new Penn State football season tickets and nearly 80,000 single game and group tickets have been sold this year.
