PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Day two of the Temple Open is officially complete with two Penn State fencers seeing top 8 finishes in their events again for the second day in a row.
The Nittany Lions saw their second first place finish of the weekend with freshman Khalil Thompson (Teaneck, N.J.) in the men's saber competition. The other fencer to finish in the top 8 was another freshman, Andrade Alejandro (Quito, Ecuador) who finished 8th in the men's saber event. Seniors Gaspar Lesznik (Wyckoff, N.J.), Michael Brand (Needham, Mass.), and Seth Levine (Port Matilda, Pa.) all also competed in the event and placed 23rd, 26th, and 29th.
Sophomores Oskar Tang (Stockholm, Sweden) and Lars Swanson (Mendham, N.J.) competed in the men's foil competition and finished 9th and 19th, respectively. Freshmen Stephen Barnett finished 20th in the men's epee event.
