UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Celine Whitlinger (Garden Grove, Calif.) was named the CHA Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season after posting her first career shutout in a 3-0 win over Lindenwood on Friday.
Whitlinger, the only Nittany Lion to be honored as the Goaltender of the Week, is just the second CHA netminder this season to win a pair of weekly titles.
On Friday, Whitlinger made 21 saves for her first career shutout in the first game against the Lions. Eighteen of her stops came in the final two periods, as her record improved to 4-4-0. The junior's four wins this season match her career win total going into the 2014-15 campaign.
The Nittany Lions are off this week before traveling to Robert Morris on Dec. 5 and 6 for the two-game CHA set.
