UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - A Nyla Rueter layup with 1.4 seconds left in the game broke a 54-54 tie and Penn State's final shot fell short as the Lady Lions (1-3) fell to St. Bonaventure (3-2), 56-54, on Tuesday evening inside the Bryce Jordan Center. The Lady Lions held the advantage for much of the game, leading for 31:03 of the 40 minutes.

The Lady Lions led by as many as nine in the second half, but the Bonnies closed the game on a 16-5 run to earn the road win. After Penn State took a 49-40 lead with 7:08 to play, St. Bonaventure chipped away at the lead and pulled within one point, 50-49, on a Gabby Richards layup with 3:07 left.

Sierra Moore (Hanover, Pa.) pushed Penn State's lead back to three points, 52-49, with a pair of free throws with 2:43 to play, but the Bonnies would end the game by scoring seven of the final nine points, including Rueter's layup, to give them the lead.

Moore led the way with a game- and career-high 15 points - nine coming in the second half - and added five rebounds and three assists. The sophomore also surpassed the 100 career point mark in the game. She scored 63 during her freshman season a Duke and has 49 in four games for the Blue and White to total 112 career tallies.

Freshman Lindsey Spann (Laurel, Md.) continued her solid start to the season by chipping in 13 points and a career-best five assists. The rookie has reached double-figures in each of her first four career outings. Sophomore Kaliyah Mitchell (Stone Mountain, Ga.) pulled down a team-best nine rebounds and tied a career high with four steals.

With three more blocked shots versus St. Bonaventure, senior Tori Waldner (Milton, Ga.) is now just one block shy of cracking the century mark and four away from moving into eighth on Penn State's all-time list. Her 99 blocks are ninth in school history and are just three shy of tying Talia East's 102 swats from 2011-14. Waldner has now blocked at least three shots in each of her last three games.

St. Bonaventure's Katie Healy had a game-high 11 rebounds and added 12 points. Rueter led three Bonnies in double figures with 13 points.

Most of the first half was played within one possession, with Penn State holding their largest lead at six points with five minutes to play in the opening stanza. The Lady Lions opened the scoring with four straight points, but St. Bonaventure netted the next five points to claim their first lead of the contest at 5-4 with 17:31 to play.

Penn State retook the lead at 6-5 before a St. Bonaventure free throw knotted the score, 6-6. Spann scored the next seven points for the Lady Lions to help them open up a 13-9 advantage. The lead grew to six points, 22-16, on a Spann jumper, but the Bonnies scored seven of the final nine points and Penn State's lead was just one point, 24-23, at the half.

After trading the lead six times over the first 10 minutes of the second half, Penn State used a 12-2 burst to open up their largest lead of the game. Four points from Moore and two apiece from Candice Agee (Victorville, Calif.), Jenny DeGraaf (Springboro, Ohio), Mitchell and Waldner helped the Lady Lions to a 49-40 edge with 7:08 to play in the contest.

St. Bonaventure had an answer, however, outscoring Penn State 16-5 down the stretch to come away with the victory. Healy scored five of her 12 points over the final seven minutes of the game, while Gabby Richards and Hannah Little added four points each in the closing push, and Rueter's layup capped the Bonnies comeback.
