UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State Lady Lions (3-9, 0-1) continue their two-game road swing to open conference play when they visit Michigan (8-4, 0-1) on Thursday at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live on BTN Plus for a fee.

    LAST TIME OUT

  • The Lady Lions were plagued by 24 turnovers and shot just 31.6 percent from the field in a 77-52 loss at #23/20 Iowa to open Big Ten play Sunday.
  • Freshman Lindsey Spann posted her fourth 20-point performance in the last five games with 22 tallies to lead the Blue and White. She also filled the stats sheet with five rebounds, four assists and a steal.
  • Junior Candice Agee had nine points on a 4-for-5 shooting effort, while sophomore Alex Harris tied her career high with 11 rebounds. Harris also had four points and a steal.
  • Senior Tori Waldner accounted for seven points and four rebounds.

    SCOUTING MICHIGAN

  • The Wolverines are 8-4 on the season, but are coming off of 63-53 loss at Wisconsin to open conference place on Sunday.
  • Katelynn Flaherty leads the way for the Michigan offense, contributing 13.8 points per game and connecting on 41.2 percent of her shots from beyond the arc.
  • Cyesha Goree is a double-double machine, averaging 13.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. She has eight double-doubles on the season.
  • Shannon Smith accounts for 11.9 points and 3.9 assists per game, while Siera Thompson rounds out the Wolverines' double figure scorers at 10.5 points per outing.

    ALL-TIME VERSUS THE WOLVERINES

  • The Lady Lions are 31-9 all-time against Michigan with a 14-5 mark in games played in Ann Arbor.
  • Penn State has won the last seven meetings with the Wolverines, including a 77-62 win in the only meeting between the squads last season.
  • PSU has won the last three games played at the Crisler Center.
  • In the last game in Ann Arbor, the Lady Lions posted a 59-49 win on Jan. 21, 2013.

    LAST TIME VERSUS UM

  • The Lady Lion seniors led the way as Penn State claimed its third consecutive Big Ten regular-season championship with a 77-62 win over Michigan on March 1, 2014.
  • All four seniors reached double figures on the day, led by Ariel Edwards, who posted her second-straight 20-point game with 21 tallies on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. She also added five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
  • Talia East tallied a career-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals.
  • Maggie Lucas scored 13 of her 17 points in the first half. She was 5-for-10 from the field and also chipped in three rebounds, four assists and three steals.
  • Dara Taylor was the final senior in double figures with 11 points with seven assists, three rebounds and three steals.

    COQUESE REUNITED WITH DUFFY

  • Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington will see a familiar face on the Wolverine bench in former Notre Dame standout and first-year Michigan assistant coach Megan Duffy.
  • Washington mentored Duffy during her Notre Dame career (2002-06) where the pair helped the Irish make four straight NCAA appearances.
  • Duffy is one of four players in school history to total at least 1,000 points, 500 assists and 200 steals.
  • Duffy won the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award, which is given to the nation's top point guard under 5-8, as a senior in 2006.
  • Duffy was the 31st overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft and played for the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty for three seasons.

    SPANN EARNS FRESHMAN WEEKLY HONORS

  • Freshman guard Lindsey Spann was selected as the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the week-ending Dec. 29.
  • She is the first Lady Lion to win Freshman of the Week accolades since Maggie Lucas earned the honor on Feb. 28, 2011.
  • Spann had a game-high 22 points in Penn State's Big Ten opener at Iowa on Sunday.
  • She connected on a career-high four three-pointers and six free throws for her fourth 20-point performance in her last five games.
  • Spann also pulled in five rebounds and dished out four assists against the Hawkeyes.

    THREE-STRAIGHT 20s FOR SPANN

  • Freshman guard Lindsey Spann posted her third consecutive game with 20 or more points with a 22-point effort at Iowa to open Big Ten play on Dec. 28.
  • It is the fourth 20-point performance of the season for the rookie.
  • Spann is the first Lady Lion freshman with three-straight 20-point outings since Maggie Lucas accomplished the feat from Jan. 6 to Jan. 16.
  • Spann netted a career-high four three-point field goals and six free throws vs. the Hawkeyes. She also tied her career-best with five rebounds.
  • Spann leads the team in double-digit performances and has now earned 11 or more points in 10 of her first 12 career games. She has netted 20 points in four of those contests.

    HARRIS PULLING IN THE BOARDS

  • Sophomore Alex Harris tied her career-high with 11 rebounds in the Big Ten opener at Iowa on Dec. 28.
  • Her effort equals the mark set twice last season against Illinois State on Nov. 30, 2013 and versus Bucknell on Nov. 20, 2013.
  • In her first two games of the season, Harris has pulled in 19 rebounds for a 9.5 per game average.

    The 2014-15 Penn State Lady Lion Basketball season is presented by Kish Travel and Kish Insurance. The Lady Lions return to the BJC to host Illinois on Sunday at 2 p.m. for First Responders Day. EMS, Fire and Police will receive two free tickets and can purchase additional tickets for $5 each. The game is also a Subway Full Court 4 Pack game. Fans can get four tickets, one voucher for four 6" subs and four 21 oz. fountain drinks for just $40.

    Lady Lion Basketball single-game and season tickets are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Single-game tickets range from $10-17 for adults and seniors and $5-11 for youth (12 and younger). Season tickets are $105 for adults and $52 for youth (12 and under). Additionally, the Family Season Ticket package, which features two adult tickets and two youth tickets in the family section in section 114L, is $210. There is a $15 handling fee per order on season tickets.

    The PNC Flex Books are $120 and give fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game. The Lady Lions also have a pair of mini-plans available this season with the B1G Deal and the Five for the 50th plans. The B1G Deal is a mini-plan that includes the nine Big Ten Conference home games. Tickets for the B1G Deal are $90 for adult sideline, $63 for youth sideline, $63 for adult baseline and $45 for youth baseline tickets. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Women's Athletics at Penn State, there is a Five for the 50th mini-plan. The plan features a ticket to the following games: South Florida (12/21), Illinois (1/4), Rutgers (1/10), Michigan State (2/11) and Ohio State (2/26). The package is $50 in honor of the 50th anniversary.
