UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State Lady Lions (3-13, 0-5) continue their string of five road games in seven contests to start Big Ten Conference play when they travel to #17/15 Nebraska on Thursday at 7 p.m. (ET).     LAST TIME OUT

  • In their first meeting as Big Ten foes, the Lady Lions couldn't overcome the high-pressure #24/23 Rutgers defense in their 71-51 setback on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center.
  • Freshman Lindsey Spann led the way for the Lady Lions with 18 points, followed by 12 from Sierra Moore and 10 tallies Candice Agee.
  • In addition to her 12 points, Moore had three assists and three steals, while Agee, who was 5-for-7 from the field, also grabbed six rebounds, dished out two assists and had a block.
  • Senior Tori Waldner and sophomore Peyton Whitted each pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.
  • The effort was Waldner's 10th game with five-plus boards this season. She also blocked a pair shots in the game.

    SCOUTING NEBRASKA

  • The Cornhuskers are ranked 17th in the AP Poll and 15th in the USA Today Sports Coaches' Poll with a 12-3 record.
  • After an 0-2 start to conference play, Nebraska has won its last two road games at Michigan State and Illinois for a 2-2 mark in Big Ten games.
  • Rachel Theriot paces the Huskers with an 18.1 scoring average with 5.1 assists per game. She is connecting on 46.2 percent of her shots from three-point range and 92.6 percent of her free throws.
  • Emily Cady is nearly averaging a double-double with 13.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, while Tear'a Laudermill adds 11.9 points per game.

    ALL-TIME VERSUS THE CORNHUSKERS

  • The Lady Lions are 5-2 all-time against Nebraska, including a 2-1 mark in road games.
  • Penn State's last visit to Lincoln resulted in a 94-74 loss to the Huskers on Feb. 24, 2014.

  • The Lady Lions ran into a hot-shooting Nebraska team as the Huskers shot 72.7% (16-22) from three-point range en route to a 94-74 win over the Lions on Feb. 24, 2014.
  • Senior guard/forward Ariel Edwards was 10-for-13 from the field en route to 24 points, which ties her career high set twice previously.
  • Fellow senior Maggie Lucas scored all 17 of her points in the second half.
  • Dara Taylor added 10 points, four assists and three steals in the loss, while freshman Peyton Whitted added six points and two rebounds off of the bench.
  • Senior Talia East snagged 12 rebounds to go along with seven points.

    SPANN AMONG CONFERENCE LEADERS

  • Freshman guard Lindsey Spann is among the Big Ten leaders in scoring and minutes played this season.
  • Spann is ninth in the league in scoring with a 16.3 average.
  • She ranks eighth in the conference in minutes played at a 33.8 per game clip.
  • In conference games, Spann ranks ninth in scoring (17.6), tied for 13th in free throw percentage (.800) and tied for 10th in three-point field goals made (2.0).

    AGEE TOP 10 IN THE LEAGUE

  • Junior center Candice Agee ranks in the top 10 in the conference in a pair of categories.
  • She is seventh in the league in field goal percentage with a 55.2 percent effort from the floor.
  • The shooting percentage is the highest of Agee's career, besting her previous season high of 40.5 percent from last year.
  • Agee also ranks eighth in the Big Ten in blocked shots with a 1.8 average.

    2015 PINK ZONE AT PENN STATE

  • The Ninth Annual Pink Zone at Penn State will be held Sunday, March 1 in the Bryce Jordan Center when the Lady Lions take on Wisconsin. The time for the game will be determined later in the season.
  • Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $310,000 to breast cancer causes.
  • All totalled, the Lady Lions have donated more than $1.135 million for breast cancer research and awareness in the first eight years.
  • This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and Lewistown Hospital.

    The 2014-15 Penn State Lady Lion Basketball season is presented by Kish Travel and Kish Insurance. The Lady Lions continue their road trip at Ohio State on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. Penn State is back home against Indiana on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. It is Dollar Dog Night and we will honor our fellow athletic teams with the OneTeam Celebration.
