FINAL STATISTICS

LINCOLN, Neb. - Candice Agee (Victorville, Calif.) had a near double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds, but the Penn State Lady Lions (3-14, 0-6) fell to #17/15 Nebraska (13-3, 3-2), 73-45, Thursday night.

Agee was 6-for-12 from the field on the way to her 13-point performance. It was the sixth double-digit outing of the season for Agee and the second consecutive. She also had two assists, two blocks and a steal in 32 minutes.

Sophomore Kaliyah Mitchell (Stone Mountain, Ga.) had a career-high 12 rebounds to go along with eight points, four steals and two assists. Fellow sophomore Keke Sevillian (Goodrich, Mich.) was 3-for-4 from the field en route to nine points, which tied her personal best set earlier this season against Rider. Sophomore Sierra Moore (Hanover, Pa.) added nine points with two steals.

The Cornhuskers scored the game's first five points and both teams struggled to find their offensive rhythm, but the Lady Lions came back to score the next four points on buckets by Moore and Peyton Whitted (Suwanee, Ga.) to close the gap to 5-4 with 14:32 remaining. Nebraska heated up from the field and went on a 14-2 run to take a 19-6 lead with 11 minutes to play in the opening frame.

The Lady Lions fought back with a 6-0 spurt thanks to back-to-back scores from Agee and two free throws by Mitchell. However, the Huskers once again went on a 14-4 run to extend the lead to 33-16 with three minutes remaining. Keke Sevillian (Goodrich, Mich.) had all four points for Penn State during the Nebraska run.

Agee tallied the game's next four points to close the gap, but the Huskers scored five of the next seven points to take a 38-22 lead at the half.

Much like the start of the game, the Cornhuskers scored the first seven points of the second half to extend their lead to 45-22 with 17:15 on the clock. Penn State closed the gap with six consecutive points that featured a layup from Moore and two 15-footers from Mitchell to make it 45-28 with 15:42 left, forcing a Nebraska timeout.

Penn State would close within 18 (50-32) over the next three minutes, but back-to-back three-pointers by Natalie Romeo made it a 56-32 margin with less than 12 minutes left. Penn State would only get within 21 points down the stretch on a three-pointer by Sevillian.
