Mink, Gebhart to Dance in THON

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State field hockey team members Bethany Mink and Laura Gebhart have been selected to dance in the 2015 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), Feb. 20-22 in the Bryce Jordan Center.

They will be dancing through SAAB, Penn State's Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

THON is a year-long fundraising and awareness campaign for the fight against pediatric cancer. The year culminates with a 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon known as THON Weekend. This event is held annually at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center. In 2014, THON raised a record-breaking $13.34 million and was able to donate 96% of funds raised directly to Four Diamonds.

Mink (Allentown, Pa.) recently completed her junior season, playing 16 games with one start against No. 3 Connecticut. She recorded an assist against No. 9 Old Dominion, and appeared in tournament games against No. 4 Syracuse and No. 11 Boston College.

Gebhart (Mount Joy, Pa.) completed her final season for Penn State this past fall, earning her fourth All-America honor. A team captain, she finished tied for second on the team with 10 goals, tied for first with seven assists and second with 27 points. The first-team All-Big Ten selection scored the team's lone goal in the win against Michigan State at the Big Ten Tournament on Nov. 6. She had a career-high six points on a personal-best three goals against Bucknell on Oct. 14. Gebhart concluded her career eighth on Penn State's all-time assists list with 45 points.
