UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team, under the guidance of head coach Cael Sanderson, now has nine wrestlers ranked in the latest version of Intermat's national individual rankings. The Nittany Lions stay in the No. 5 spot on Intermat's Tournament Power Index (TPI) in advance of their Sunday showdown at Oklahoma State.
Junior Jordan Conaway (Abbottstown, Pa.) is ranked No. 8 at 125 with a 19-4 record. Sophomore Jimmy Gulibon (Latrobe, Pa.) has moved up to No. 5 at 133 with an 18-4 mark. Sophomore Zack Beitz (Mifflintown, Pa.) is 13-7 at 149 and ranked No. 18. Senior Dylan Alton (Mill Hall, Pa.) is ranked No. 8 at 157 and is 8-3 overall. Red-shirt freshman Garett Hammond (Chambersburg, Pa.) makes his rankings debut in the No. 18 spot at 165 with a 20-8 record.
Senior Matt Brown (West Valley City, Utah) is now ranked No. 2 at 174 and is 20-2 on the year. Red-shirt freshman Matt McCutcheon (Apollo, Pa.) is ranked No. 19 at 184 with a 20-10 mark. Junior Morgan McIntosh (Santa Ana, Calif.) is 21-2 at 197 and is now ranked No. 4. Senior Jimmy Lawson (Toms River, N.J.) is ranked No. 6 at 285 with an 11-1 record.
Penn State is 10-3 overall. The Nittany Lions trek to Stillwater, Okla., to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 3 p.m. (Eastern)/2 p.m. Central. Penn State closes out the dual meet season at home and a very limited number of standing room only (SRO) tickets are available for the home finale in Rec Hall vs. Rider on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. Fans can call the Penn State ticket office at 1-800-NITTANY to purchase.
