UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The 10th-ranked Nittany Lion women's lacrosse team opens its 2015 campaign against Keystone State rival Lehigh on Saturday at 1 p.m. inside Holuba Hall. Admission is free and fans will receive team t-shirts while supplies last.

PROMOTIONS
Saturday will feature a Kids Zone with crafts and a tie-dye station. Fans can bring their own white t-shirt or use the ones given out at the gate.

ABOUT THE NITTANY LIONS
Penn State has returned 10 of its 11 leading scorers from a season ago into the team's inaugural Big Ten season. Last year, Madison Cyr (Westminster, Md.) led the team with 41 goals, while Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) crested over the 200-point career plateau with a 48-point season. Jenna Mosketti (Fallston, Md.) once again patrols the middle following her 30-goal campaign in 2014, which included a team best 74 draw controls.

The Nittany Lions went 10-8 last season, while averaging 13.06 goals per game. Defensively, the team allowed 10.06 goals per game, a trend head coach Missy Doherty and company hope to improve upon in 2015.

Last weekend, Penn State defeated Villanova, 19-6, in an exhibition scrimmage inside Holuba Hall where McCormick had a game-best eight points.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
Lehigh is coming off a 7-9 campaign, which included a 4-4 mark in the Patriot League. The Hawks averaged 8.75 goals per game, while allowing 8.69 per game. Lehigh averaged just 17.5 shots per game a season ago, but the team returns the majority of its scoring from a year ago.

The Mountain Hawks will look for its offense from Allison LaBeau and Carli Sukonik, who led the team with 38 and 37 points, respectively, last year. In net, Taylor Tvedt is the only Hawk on the roster with previous playing time.

THE PENN STATE-LEHIGH WOMEN'S LACROSSE SERIES
The Nittany Lions and Mountain Hawks meet for the first time since 2013, renewing a series dating back to 1985. The two teams played every year from 1985-2001 before meeting five straight times (2009-13). Penn State was won all 22 matchups.

NEXT TIME OUT
Penn State will return to the warm confines of Holuba Hall for another in-state rivalry game on Wednesday, Feb. 18 when it hosts Bucknell at 7 p.m.
