    LAST TIME OUT

  • The Lady Lions held the momentum early against #5/5 Maryland, but the Terrapins used a 31-7 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half to grab control of the game and claim a 77-62 win Thursday.
  • Freshman Lindsey Spann led the way for the Lady Lions with 18 points, while sophomore Sierra Moore added 15 and junior Candice Agee added 10.
  • Spann was 7-of-15 from the field in the game, and added two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
  • Moore posted her ninth game of the season with at least 10 points, five rebounds and four assists, finishing the night with six boards and four helpers to go along with her 15 points.
  • Continuing her strong play was Agee, who ended the night with six rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
  • Senior Tori Waldner added a team-best eight rebounds to go along with six points.

    SCOUTING PURDUE

  • The Boilermakers are 10-12 overall and 3-8 in Big Ten play this season.
  • Whitney Bays averages a double-double with team-bests of 15.4 points and 10.3 rebounds to lead Purdue. She also averages 2.5 steals per outing.
  • Ashely Morrissette also accounts for double figures with an 11.4 scoring average thanks in part to a squad-high 36 three-pointers.
  • April Wilson adds 9.6 points and a team-best 4.7 assists per outing, while Liza Clemons chips in 8.8 points and 1.5 blocks per game.

    ALL-TIME VERSUS THE BOILERMAKERS

  • The Lady Lions are 18-27 all-time against Purdue, but have won four of the last six meetings.
  • Penn State is 6-14 all-time in road games against the Boilers.
  • Last season, the squads split a pair of contests with each team picking up a road win.
  • Penn State earned a 75-72 win in West Lafayette on Jan. 31, while Purdue claimed an 84-74 victory in Happy Valley on Jan. 12.

    LAST TIME VERSUS PURDUE

  • In the kind of game you would expect from a pair of ranked teams, the #13/12 Lady Lions landed four players in double figures and held off a late run as they posted a 75-72 over #16/19 Purdue on Jan. 31, 2014.
  • Maggie Lucas scored 23 points on the night to move into second place on Penn State's career scoring list and ninth place in Big Ten history (2,259 points).
  • Lucas turned in a complete performance to go along with her 23 points, she had five rebounds, six assists and a pair of steals.
  • Ariel Edwards also turned in a 20-point performance with 21 tallies with six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
  • Fellow senior Talia East turned in her third double-double of Big Ten play with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 12 rebounds.
  • Dara Taylor also reached double figures with 13 tallies to compliment six rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

    SPANN CLOSING IN FRESHMAN SCORING TOP 10

  • With a team-high 18 points against Maryland on Feb. 5, Lindsey Spann inched closer to the Top 10 on Penn State's freshman season scoring list.
  • Spann has 330 points in her rookie season.
  • She needs 10 points to tie Kahadeejah Herbert (340; 1981-82) for 10th and 19 tallied to tie Lisa Shepherd (349; 1997-98) for ninth.

    CAN CAN BLOCK

  • Junior center Candice Agee moved into sole possession of 16th place on Penn State's career blocks list with two rejections against Maryland on Feb. 5.
  • Agee broke a tie with Tyra Grant (75 blocks) for 16th spot with 77 career rejections.
  • She needs four blocks to tie Kahadeejah Herbert (81; 1982-85) for 15th place.
  • Agee has 13 multi-block efforts this season, including six of her last seven games.
  • Agee recorded a career-high five blocks in the win over Rider on Dec. 14.

    The 2014-15 Penn State Lady Lion Basketball season is presented by Kish Travel and Kish Insurance. The Lady Lions return to the BJC on Wednesday to meet Michigan State at 7 p.m. on Dollar Dog Night. Penn State will also host Minnesota on Sunday at 2 p.m. There's a pregame National Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic with other women's sports teams. Participants get a free ticket to the game and parents get a $5 ticket.

    Lady Lion Basketball single-game tickets are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Single-game tickets range from $10-17 for adults and seniors and $5-11 for youth (12 and younger). The PNC Flex Books are $120 and give fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game.

    The Ninth Annual Pink Zone at Penn State presented by Mount Nittany Health will be held Sunday, March 1 in the Bryce Jordan Center when the Lady Lions take on Wisconsin. The time for the game will be determined later in the season. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $310,000 to breast cancer causes. All totaled, the Lady Lions have donated more than $1.135 million for breast cancer research and awareness in the first eight years. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C.
