Feb. 9, 2015

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Feb. 9, 2015 - Connor Darcey (Wellesley, Mass.) was honored as the first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week in Big Ten Lacrosse history, the conference announced Monday.

Darcey won the first start of his collegiate career in the No. 14/17 Nittany Lions' season-opening victory against Vermont on Saturday. A redshirt sophomore, Darcey made 15 saves, the most of any Big Ten goalie in action during the day, and gathered three ground balls for the victory. The win was Penn State's third consecutive at the beginning of a campaign under Jeff Tambroni's tutelage.

The Nittany Lions embark on their first road trip this season when they head to Maryland for a noon game at Loyola on Sat., Feb. 14.
