UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The ninth-ranked Nittany Lion women's lacrosse team hosts No. 15 James Madison Wednesday afternoon (4 p.m.) at Penn State Lacrosse Field in its third straight game against a ranked foe.

ADMISSION & PARKING
All regular-season Penn State lacrosse games are free to attend. Parking is available in Lot 44 next to the Penn State Muli-Sport Complex.

LAST TIME OUT: Penn State 12, Loyola Maryland 8 (March 7)
The ninth-ranked Penn State women's lacrosse team held No. 17 Loyola Maryland scoreless for the final 22 minutes of play en route to a 12-8 road victory on Saturday at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore.

Penn State (4-1) scored the game's final five goals to overcome an 8-7 deficit early in the second half. Sophomore Steph Lazo (Stevensville, Md.) scored three goals and senior Maggie McCormick (Eldersberg, Md.) had a game-high four points to aid the Nittany Lion attack. Junior Jenna Mosketti (Fallston, Md.) also scored twice.

MCCORMICK RISING UP THE CHARTS
Maggie McCormick is on pace to set a Penn State career record for assists, currently holding a spot in third with former teammate Mackenzie Cyr with 107 dishes. McCormick is two away from matching Marsha Florio (109, 1982-85) and eight from pulling even with Julie Tice (115, 1997-2000).

For her career, McCormick has 214 points, evenly distributed between goals and assists. The 214 points are two off fifth-place (216, Laurie Gray, 1981-84). McCormick needs 13 goals to crack the top 15 goals chart.

LAZO LEADING THE LIONS
Penn State sophomore Steph Lazo is the team's leader in goals early on with 14. She had a five-goal game against Lehigh and a hat trick against Bucknell before scoring two vs. Duquesne. She found the back of the net once more against Virginia two weeks ago and had another hat trick vs. Loyola last week.

In all, Lazo has 15 points on the season, second to Maggie McCormick (20, 7-13). Entering 2015, Lazo had only one goal to her name.

BALANCED SCORING
The Nittany Lions have received goals from 13 different sources this season with 11 providing multiple goals. Joining Lazo in the multi-goal category is Kelly Lechner (9), Madison Cyr (9), Abby Smucker (8), Tatum Coffey (7), Maggie McCormick (7), Jenna Mosketti (7), Jess Loizeaux (4), Katie O'Donnell (3), Ally Heavens (3) and Maggie Gallagher (2).

CYR, MCCORMICK NAMED TO TEWAARATON AWARD WATCH LIST
Senior Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) and junior Madison Cyr (Westminster, Md.) were named as two of 50 women's lacrosse players to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Thursday night, Feb. 26. The Tewaaraton Award, presented by Under Armour, honors the best men's and women's collegiate lacrosse player.

This is the fifth straight season the Nittany Lions have had a representative on the preseason watch list. Potential additions to the watch list will be announced March 19 and April 9 before the first cutdown to 25 players on April 23.

ABOUT THE DUKES
James Madison (5-1) travels to Happy Valley on a five-game winning streak, while rising up the rankings. Last week, the Dukes defeated Richmond, 10-5, which followed up its thrilling 11-10 overtime win at Loyola the previous Saturday.

The offensively-inclined Dukes score 12.33 goals per game, while allowing 9.17 a game. Individually, Betsy Angel leads the team in goals (16) and points (22), while Stephanie Finley is a do-everything player that has 13 goals and a team-best 24 draw controls. Alison Curwin is second on the team with 17 points on eight goals, nine assists and Jaci Gordon has nine goals, six assists, in just four games played. Last season, Finley had 44 goals, while Curwin tallied 27.

In net, Schylar Healy is the starter, having played all but 32 seconds this season. Healy, a senior and former high school teammate of Maggie McCormick, has posted an 8.87 GAA and .522 save percentage in the early going. Healy has saved at least eight shots in every game this season with three games of double digit stops.
