UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's golf team will enter its largest field of competition this season on Sunday when it begins the three-day Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va.
William and Mary will host a 29-team field that includes Air Force, Appalachian State, Binghamton, Boston College, Bucknell, Cleveland State, Dayton, Delaware, Eastern Kentucky, IPFW, James Madison, La Salle, Longwood, Loyola Chicago, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Mississippi State, Missouri, Ohio, Old Dominion, Radford, St. Francis (Pa.), St. Joseph's, Temple, Towson and Youngstown State.
The par 70, 6,765-yard River Course at the Kingsmill Resort has been a longtime home of the Michelob Open on the PGA tour, the Michelob Ultra Open on the LPGA tour, and currently home to the LPGA Kingsmill Championship.
Senior Jens Talbert (Little Rock, Ark.), juniors JD Dornes (Lancaster, Pa.) and Geoff Vartelas (Cromwell, Conn.), sophomore Christian Elliott (Port Perry, Ontario) and freshman Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) will start for the Nittany Lions.
Rounds one and two will begin with tee times on Sunday and Monday, respectively, while the final 18 holes will kick off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
