UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Winter weather will not allow Penn State and No. 21 Indiana to take the field any sooner than Sunday, Penn State Athletics announced Friday afternoon. Penn State staff will continue to monitor the weather conditions as well as field and facility conditions to ensure the utmost safety of the student-athletes, staff and spectators.
Athletics personnel will work on snow removal Saturday and reconvene mid-afternoon that day to evaluate the progress of those efforts and determine if games can be safely played Sunday.
Since the series will be limited to one day, one game in the three-game series has been officially canceled.
The Big Ten opener for both teams was initially set to get underway Friday at 5:30 p.m., with single games throughout the weekend. Those with tickets to Friday and Saturday's contest can redeem their voucher for either contest at a future home game on the schedule.
