UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Saturday's Penn State baseball game against Central Connecticut has been postponed to a Sunday doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. due to snow flurries and cold temperatures, head coach Rob Cooper announced Saturday morning.
With the safety of student-athletes, spectators and staff ranking as the highest priority, it was assessed that weather conditions would not improve enough during the day. Conditions around 11 a.m. included temperatures in the low 20's, a wind chill in the teens and snow flurries falling. Sunday's forecast from NOAA calls for a high of 44 and sun.
The doubleheader means double promotions for fans. Today's marketing closet spring cleaning will join Sunday's rally towel giveaway. The spring cleaning giveaway will include a variety of Penn State giveaway items.
Both games Sunday will be nine innings. Ticket information is available at GoPSUsports.com. Anyone with a ticket to Saturday's game can redeem their voucher for a future home baseball contest of their choice.
