MIAMI, FLA. - The Nittany Lions women's golf team finished the second round of the Hurricane Invitational, amassing a total of 305 strokes (+21) on the day and stands in 14th place after two rounds with a 34-over total. The third and final round will begin tomorrow at 8:00 am.
Senior Ellen Ceresko continued her steady play with a 72 (+1), bogeying only three holes on the day. Ceresko currently sits tied for 28th. Senior Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ontario) managed three birdies, but also suffered two double bogeys on her way to a five-over (76). She sits in a tie for 46th.
Junior Grace Chung (Richmond Hill Ontario) added another steady performance, scoring a three-over par on both her front and back nine, finishing with a six-over par (77). Senior Catherine Hererra (Houston, Texas), junior Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Ontario), and junior Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) all fought their way to an (80) in the second round.
Northwestern added to their overall lead by playing under-par as a team for the second straight day, and are six-under par for the tournament. Northwestern leads by a hefty margin of 13 strokes. Individually, Hannah Kim of Northwestern took hold of the lead by shooting one-under par to improve to -3 for the tournament.
