BUFFALO, N.Y. - Penn State sophomore Mackenzie Cornell reached the 3-meter finals of the NCAA Zone `A' Regional Championship Monday at the University at Buffalo, placing 12th with a 12-dive score of 575.10.
Cornell needed to rank in the top seven to advance to the NCAA finals. She was strong in the preliminaries, ranking eighth with a score of 295.05, and her six-dive score in the finals was 280.05.
Senior Meredith Harbison also competed, placing 43rd in the preliminaries with a score of 223.85.
The meet will continue Tuesday with the 1-meter dive.
