Hill Garners Big Ten Athlete of the Week Honors

April 29, 2015

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Senior Darrell Hill (Philadelphia, Pa.) has been named the Big Ten Men's Co-Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon. This is the second career award for Hill.

This past weekend at the Penn Relays, Hill defended his 2014 Penn Relays shot put title with a lifetime-best mark of 68-2.5. His toss is the No. 2 all-time mark at Penn State, the No. 3 all-time performance at the Penn Relays and the No. 2 distance this outdoor season in the NCAA.

The Nittany Lions have secured three Big Ten Athlete of the Week awards this outdoor season. Robby Creese (Mount Airy, Md.) and Brannon Kidder (Lancaster, Ohio) were both honored earlier this season for their performances on the track.

Penn State will split squads this weekend as they head to the Maryland Twilight meet (May 1) in College Park, Md., and the Payton Jordan Invitational (May 2) in Palo Alto, Calif.
