Four Nittany Lion Women's Golfers Claim WGCA Academic Accolades

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Four members of the Penn State women's golf team were selected as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars. Seniors Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Quebec) and Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) and juniors Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario) and Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) received the honor.

To be selected, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA. The quartet of Nittany Lions were among 758 golfers chosen across Division I, II and III.

Archambault, a senior in finance, was named an All-American Scholar for the fourth straight year. She was also named Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar earlier this spring. Archambault is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten choice. She graduated with her degree in May.

A senior in marketing, Ceresko claims the honor for the fifth time. Ceresko earned her third Academic All-Big Ten honor this spring and was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2013. She graduated in May with her degree in marketing.

Chung, a junior finance major, was named an All-American Scholar for the second time in her career. Chung is also a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Morell, who transferred from Robert Morris, earns the honor for the third time in her career. The junior was the 2014 Northeast Conference Player of the Year and Scholar of the Year for women's golf. Morell is a communication major.
