UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬"

F our Nittany Lion men's hockey student-athletes are part of NHL Development Camps this summer. Eric Scheid (Blaine, Minn.), Matthew Skoff (McKees Rocks, Pa.), Eamon McAdam (Perkasie, Pa.) and Zach Saar (Richland, Mich.) are Penn State's invitees.

Scheid is currently with the Anaheim Ducks, which began its camp July 1 and concludes today. Scheid is taking part in his second straight development camp, having trained with the Minnesota Wild last summer.

Saar is part of the Toronto Maple Leafs' prospect camp that begins Tuesday in Collingwood, Ontario with former Nittany Lion Casey Bailey, who appeared in six games this spring for the Leafs. Saar was with the Washington Capitals development camp last summer.

McAdam, a New York Islanders' draft choice, is taking part in their mini-camp for a third straight year, competing with the Blue Team, which will scrimmage the White Team on July 8 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Skoff is participating in his third straight development camp, this year staying with his hometown Pittsburgh Penguins, which is slated for the second week of July. The full roster will be announced shortly. Skoff has previously worked out with Philadelphia (2013) and San Jose (2014).

NCAA student-athletes participating in NHL development camps do not have their eligibility affected. The camps give team draft picks and free agent invitees the change to experience an NHL camp with team staff on and off the ice.
