UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 2015 Penn State field hockey team will see its first opposition of the season Sunday, Aug. 16, as the Nittany Lions will face Drexel in a preseason scrimmage in the Spooky Nook Sports complex near Lancaster starting at 1 p.m.
It will be the first opportunity for the 2015 Nittany Lions to see game action together. The team begins preseason camp Wednesday.
PSU is coming off its fifth straight NCAA tournament appearance and 30th in the 33 years of NCAA field hockey. The squad is welcoming 10 freshmen and returning just three starters after losing eight to graduation.
The 2015 season begins with a two-game road trip down to Virginia, starting Friday, Aug. 28 at Old Dominion and concluding Sunday, Aug. 30 at Virginia. The home opener at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex is Friday, Sept. 4 vs. Temple at 6 p.m.
