USA Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Rising senior Celine Whitlinger (Garden Grove, Calif.) has been invited to the 2015 USA Hockey Women's National Festival at the Olympic Center, Aug. 11 in Lake Placid, New York.
The festival is an annual training session that will also be used to select two 22-player rosters for a pair of series against Canada held simultaneously from Aug. 19-23 at the Lake Placid Olympic Center. The U.S. entries will feature an Under-18 Select Team and Under-22 Select Team. Whitlinger is one of three active NCAA DI goaltenders invited to attend.
This past May, Whitlinger, along with fellow Nittany Lion goaltender Hannah Ehresmann (Minnetonka, Minn.) took part in the first ever USA Hockey Women's National Team Goalie Development Camp. The two were the only collegiate tandem selected to attend the 18 player event.
During the 2014-15 season, Whitlinger set single-season school records in goals against average (2.17), shutouts (three) and wins (13).
Assistant coach Alex Dawes will also be attending the camp working on staff as a video coordinator.
