Sept. 22, 2015

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's gymnastics program officially began practice last week inside the Mary Beaver White Building.

Head coach Jeff Thompson enters his sixth year at the helm of the Nittany Lion program. The 2016 Nittany Lions will be a young squad, as 10 of the members are underclassmen. Penn State welcomes eight new student-athletes to the Blue and White for the upcoming season.

The 2016 Nittany Lion squad will be comprised of four juniors, three sophomores and seven freshmen. The Nittany Lions return Briannah Tsang (Vancouver, British Columbia), who was named the 2015 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Tsang is the fourth Nittany Lion to bring home Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
