Swimming & Diving Announces 2015-16 Schedules

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Three home meets in McCoy Natatorium and additional meets against the nation's top competition highlight the 2015-16 Penn State men's and women's swimming and diving schedules, announced Tuesday by head coach Tim Murphy.

The season will begin Friday, Oct. 2 with a tri-meet at Georgia Tech, the site of the 2016 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The meet also includes Liberty. The Nittany Lions will stay in Atlanta Saturday and compete in dual meet with Emory.

The home slate opens Friday, Oct. 16 against Virginia Tech. Penn State will also host Princeton and UConn in a two-day tri-meet beginning Friday evening, Nov. 13. Senior Day will take place Saturday, Feb. 6 when the Nittany Lions host in-state foe Villanova.

Penn State will hit the road in between its two fall home meets, heading to Michigan for a tri-meet that will include Virginia (Oct. 31-Nov.1). The 2015 portion of the schedule will conclude with a pair of meets during the first weekend of December (4-6). Part of the squad will compete at the Georgia Invitational hosted by the University of Georgia in Athens, while another part will compete in the Big Al Invitational hosted by Princeton.

The Nittany Lions will begin the New Year with a tri-meet at Yale (Jan. 15-16) and that will also include the Rutgers women's team. The regular season slate will conclude with a dual meet at Navy (Jan. 23) and the home dual against Villanova (Feb. 6).

The women's team will be the first to compete in the conference championships as Michigan will host the Big Ten meet Feb. 18-20 in Ann Arbor. The men will travel to West Lafayette, Indiana, where Purdue will host the Big Ten Championships Feb. 25-27.

The divers will return to Annapolis for the NCAA Zone A Championships hosted by Navy, Mar. 7-9.

The Nittany Lions will be seeking to return to Atlanta for the NCAA Championships. The women's championship will take place Mar. 17-19, while the men's will take place Mar. 24-26.
