UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State women's golf got off to a great start to its 2015-16 season, setting the pace in the 39th Nittany Lion Invitational. After 36 holes of golf the Nittany Lions lead the tournament at plus-11, 587 going into the championship round, seeking their 20th team title.

Jacklyn Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) played in her first ever collegiate tournament and gave the program a lot to look forward to in the future. She shot 2-under on the day after rounds of 70 and 72, sitting one stroke behind Alex Liu from William & Mary for top individual score.

Senior Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) made her NLI debut with a solid day of 72-75, to claim sole position of third at plus-3 147.

Another newcomer that had a fantastic start to her collegiate career was Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.). Waller ended the day with the score of 4-over 148 (76-72), boosting her confidence and shaking away the nerves moving into the championship round. Waller played as PSU's No. 1 on the opening day of the season.
