Women's Tennis Wraps Up Final Day at ITA Regionals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa; October 17, 2015 -- The Penn State women's tennis team prepares to head home from weekend long ITA tournament in Lynchburg, Va. The six of twelve team members to attend the tournament were Katia Blik (Moscow, Russia), Jacqueline Zuhse (Boca Raton, Fla.), Taylor Shukow (Boca Raton, Fla.), Kim Surin (Montreal, Canada), Kathrine Whiteaway (Sawbridgeworth, England), and Devan McCluskey (Pheonix, Ariz.).

In main draw singles, Maryland competitor, Olga Bredikhina, defeated 16 seed, Kim Surin 6-3,6-0, Devan McCluskey fell to Ingrid Vojcinakova 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. 11 seed, Katia Blik was defeated by Olga Barshcheuskaya of Virginia Commonwealth University 6-3, 7-5.

"It was good for us to travel with a bigger group to Regionals this year," said head coach, Coach Cagle, "We will use what we learned this weekend to get ready for out tournament at UNC in early November."

With the conclusion of the ITA tournament at Liberty University, the Nittany Lions now prepare to head to Chapel Hill, NC, November, 6th.
