Penn State Sits at 15th Heading into Round Two

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" The Penn State women's golf team competed in the first round of the Landfall Tradition and finished with a score of 305 plus-17. The Nittany Lion's are in 15th out of 20 teams going into the second round.

Sophomore Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Dublin, Ireland) led the team shooting a 74 plus-2. Diez is tied for 28th in the player leaderboard.

Newcomer Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) got off to a great start shooting 1-under through the front nine. Waller finished the round with a score of 75 plus-3.

Newcomer Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) tied Waller and Diez with a team-high three birdies on the day. Rogowicz shot a 77 plus-5 and is currently tied for 53rd on the leaderboard.

Seniors Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) shot a 79 plus-7, while Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario) shot an 83 plus-11.

Duke University was the only team to finish the first round under par shooting 287 1-under. The Blue Devils are two strokes ahead of the second placed Oklahoma State.
