Nittany Lion's Compete in the Second Round of Landfall Tradition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" The Penn State women's golf team improved their first round score by three strokes in the second round shooting a 302 plus-14. The Lion's have a score of 607 plus-31 and moved up one spot to 14th in the standings.

Newcomer Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) played great the whole day shooting 72 even par. Waller had a team-high three birdies and is now tied for 18th in the player leaderboard with a score of 147 plus-3.

Sophomore Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Dublin, Ireland) continued to help out the team through round two. Diez shot a 76 plus-4 and is currently tied for 36th in the player leaderboard.

Newcomer Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) ended the day well shooting even par through the back nine. Rogowicz finished the round shooting 77 plus-5 with a score of 154 plus-10 on the tournament.

Both seniors improved on their first round scores. Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) shot a 77 plus-5, two strokes better than round one. While Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario) improved her score by three strokes shooting an 80 plus-8.

Duke University continues to lead the pack and played a great second round as a team shooting 284 4-under. The Blue Devils increased their lead over the second placed Oklahoma State and now have a 10 stroke lead.

The third and final round begins tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
