Women's Golf Wraps up Fall Season at Landfall Tradition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" The Penn State women's golf team ended their fall season with a lot to look forward to in the spring, tying their lowest team round score of 285 3-under in the final round of the Landfall Tradition. The Lions moved up one spot in the standings, finishing 13th with a tournament score of 892 plus-28.

Newcomer Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) had a standout performance shooting a 68 4-under, the lowest round score shot this season. Waller finished the round with zero bogeys, tied for a team-high four birdies, and tournament score of 215 1-under which was good enough to finish in the top 10 at ninth place.

Sophomore Ariana Coyle Diez (Mount Merrion, Dublin, Ireland) tied Waller with a team-high four birdies and shot her lowest round score of the season at 70 2-under.

Newcomer Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.) shot a 72 even par in the final round. Rogowicz improved on her first and second round scores by five strokes, and finished the tournament with a score of 226 plus-10.

Both seniors Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) and Grace Chung (Richmond Hill, Ontario) shot a 75 plus-3. Morell finished the tournament with a score of 231 plus-15, while Chung posted a 238 plus-22.

Duke University led wire-to-wire and won the 2015 Landfall Tradition beating out the second placed Notre Dame by 11 strokes. This is the second time Duke has won in the tournaments 14-year existence.

This tournament concluded the fall season for the women's golf team. The Nittany Lions season picks back up in March.
