Britt Eckerstrom (Germantown, Md.) and Raquel Rodriguez (San Jose, Costa Rica) were named to the College Sports Information of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Two first team, as announced Thursday. Eckerstrom and Rodriguez now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team ballot. First- , second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Eckerstrom and Rodriguez are the program's 16th and 17th CoSIDA First Team Academic All-District honorees since 2000.

Eckerstrom currently holds a 3.64 GPA as a geography major and Rodriguez boasts a 3.80 GPA as a recreation, park and tourism management major.

Eckerstrom has been named a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, while Rodriguez has received the Academic All-Big Ten honor twice. Last year, Rodriguez was named an NSCAA Scholar All-America honoree.

All-time at Penn State, Eckerstrom and Rodriguez are arguably two of the top Nittany Lions in their respective positions.

In the Penn State rankings, Eckerstrom ranks second in wins (52), third in goals against average (minimum 2,000 minutes) (0.89), third in goalie games played (76), fourth in saves (232) and seventh in shutouts (17.8). Eckerstrom also ranks third in goalie minutes played with 6,167.

Rodriguez ranks in the top-20 all-time at Penn State in assists (t-12th, 25), goals (t-18th, 21), game-winning goals (16th, 8), shots attempted (15th, 168), shots on goal (10th, 72), points (19th, 67), and she ranks 16th all-time at Penn State in minutes played (6,167).

In 2015, Eckerstrom has posted five solo shutouts and she also split time in a pair of shutouts. Rodriguez has scored four goals and dished out three assists on the season for 11 points. Two of her four goals this season have clinched a victory for the Blue and White.

The Nittany Lions won a share of the 2015 Big Ten title Wednesday night. The 2015 Big Ten title marks the 17th time in program history that the Nittany Lions have won the Big Ten women's soccer regular season title.

Penn State hosts Illinois in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament Sunday, Nov. 1, at Jeffrey Field live on the Big Ten Network at 3 p.m.
