UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Sophomore Elizabeth Ball (Richmond, Va.) has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week. This is the first national honor for Ball.
Ball along with the Nittany Lion defense held the No. 24 Northwestern offense to three shot attempts in a 3-0 win for Penn State this past Sunday. In the match, Ball played the full 90 minutes and tallied one shot attempt.
Also, freshman Kaleigh Riehl (Fairfax Station, Va.) was named honorable mention. Riehl, a defender, played all 90 minutes on Sunday.
The Nittany Lions return home to Jeffrey Field, as they host Maryland at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 8 and Indiana at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 11. Both matches will be aired on BTN Plus on BTN2Go.
