Whitlinger Named CHA Goaltender of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. -- Senior Celine Whitlinger (Garden Grove, Calif.) has been named the College Hockey America (CHA) Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. This is the second weekly award for Whitlinger this season and the eighth of her career.

Whitlinger and the Nittany Lions are coming off a 1-0-1 weekend at Robert Morris.

In the first meeting of the season against the Colonials, Whitlinger made 29 saves en route to a 2-2 draw. Whitlinger followed up her 29-save performance Friday night with 36 saves on Saturday afternoon.

Overall, Whitlinger made 65 saves, tallied a goals against average of 1.44, recorded a save percentage of .956 and only allowed three goals.

In the CHA, Whitlinger ranks first in save percentage (.949), second in goals allowed average (1.48) and third in saves (279).

Penn State returns to the ice Monday, Nov. 23, against St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y.
