UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Following a run to the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship Friday in Princeton, N.J. the Penn State women's cross country team moved up one spot, tied at No. 9 with North Carolina State University in the seventh edition of the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Coaches Poll, as announced Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Penn State women's cross country program captured the Mid-Atlantic Regional championship on Friday with 60 points, placing three runners in the top-10 at the West Windsor Fields.
The Mid-Atlantic Regional championship, the Nittany Lions' first regional title since 2012, continued Penn State's climb into the top-10 after making their first appearance in the top-10 since Week 7 in 2012 last week.
Penn State travels to Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 21 for the NCAA Division I cross country championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
