COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Penn State men's basketball dropped a 66-46 decision on the road at Ohio State (13-8, 5-3) Monday night.

Brandon Taylor led Penn State (11-10, 2-6) with 11 points.

Keita Bates-Diop scored 22 points for the Buckeyes. He scored 13 points in the first half, including a 3-pointer less than three minutes in that put Ohio State on top for good.

The Buckeyes outscored the Nittany Lions 8-0 while holding them scoreless for more than seven minutes midway through the first half.

But the Nittany Lions recovered, enjoying a 12-4 advantage in the last five minutes of the first half to go to the locker room trailing by only seven.

"I thought they loaded up inside, made it very tough for us to post up," Penn State coach Patrick Chambers said. "We kicked out and we didn't make 'em. They had five guys in the paint and did a really good job of taking away what we're good at. Give Thad credit."

Ohio State's 33-26 halftime lead could have been larger if not for 10 turnovers that Penn State converted into 10 points.

Jae'Sean Tate scored 15 points for Ohio State, while Marc Loving added 11.

Penn State heads to New York City this weekend, taking part in the first portion of the first Big Ten Super Saturday Hoops and Hockey doubleheader against Michigan at Madison Square Garden Saturday Jan. 30. Tip time is set for noon.
