Bravo Places 15th at St. Louis NAC

ST. LOUIS - The Penn State fencing team opened up the 2016 half of the season today at the North American Cup. Three Nittany Lions competed in the Division I men's foil event, which saw a top-20 placement in the tournament.

Senior Nobuo Bravo (San Francisco, Calif.) was the top finisher for Penn State on the day. Bravo survived pool play and battled through five rounds of direct elimination before falling just short of the quarterfinal round. Bravo finished in 15th place in today's competition.

Freshman Julian Fevry (St. Albans, N.Y.), also competing attached for the Lions, fell in the second round of direct elimination play. Fevry ended the competition in 69th place.

Freshman Dylan Pyne (Princeton, N.J.) fenced unattached in today's event. Pyne made it to the first round of direct elimination play, ultimately finishing in 147th place on the day.

The Nittany Lions will continue competition at the North American Cup tomorrow with the Division I men's epee event beginning at 8 a.m., and the Division I women's foil event, starting at 1 p.m.
