UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ââ'¬" After two back-to-back weekends of NCAA duels, the Penn State fencing team will turn its sights on the competition circuit this weekend. Fourteen Nittany Lions will travel to two different competitions this weekend, the Junior Olympics and the Epee World Cup.
The Junior Olympics will be held in Cleveland, with competition beginning Friday, Feb. 12 and finishing on Monday, Feb. 15. The competition is an opportunity for fencers under 20-years-old to gain points towards their national rankings.
The fencers traveling to Cleveland will be competing as followed:
Friday, Feb. 12 ââ'¬"Kathryn Charpin (Setauket, N.Y.) and DeAna Oliver (Montclair, N.J.).
Saturday, Feb. 13 ââ'¬" Julian Fevry (St. Albans, N.Y.), Sarah Waller (McKinney, Texas) and Nicolette Vigna (Thornwood, N.Y.).
Sunday, Feb. 14 ââ'¬" Kasey Iverson (Basking Ridge, N.J.), Anton Piskovatskov (Houston, Texas) and Joshua Cole (Chappaqua, N.Y.).
Monday, Feb. 15 ââ'¬" Gavin Turner (Rehoboth, Mass.), Karol Metryka (Linden, N.J.), Marcel Dolegiewicz (Park Ridge, Ill.), Khalil Thompson (Teaneck, N.J.) and Brad Devito (Ridgefield, Conn.).
Additionally, junior captain Jessie Radanovich (Tollhouse, Calif.) will be traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to compete in the Epee World Cup on Feb. 12 - 13.
