UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Redshirt-Junior Matt Callaway has been selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week after helping No. 7 Penn State to a 2-0 week in EIVA action.
In a 3-1 victory at home against NJIT, Callaway recorded five total blocks and in a 3-0 sweep against Princeton added nine total blocks. Matt currently leads the EIVA in total blocks (49), block assists (44), and blocks per set (1.26). This is Callaway's first EIVA Defensive Player of the Week selection in 2016.
Callaway and the rest of the sixth ranked Nittany Lions return home this week as they continue their run through EVIA conference play when Charleston (WV) visits Rec Hall for a Friday, February 26 match at 7 p.m., followed by a Saturday match with George Mason at 7 p.m.
