UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The No. 10 Penn State men's volleyball team notched their 13th win of the season in a 3-1 win against UC-Irvine on Monday night in Rec Hall.

Matt Seifert had a solid game collecting seven kills on 10 attempts hitting .700 while adding a match-high six blocks to earn Mike Anderson Penn State Player of the Match honors for the second time this season.

Aidan Albrecht (Old Bridge, N.J.) led the Nittany Lions in kills with 12 and added seven digs along with 3 blocks. Spencer Sauter (Woodridge, Ill.) and Chris Nugent (Fair Lawn, N.J.) finished with 10 and nine kills, respectively. Taylor Hammond (Mission Viejo, Calif.) handed out 35 assists, while Royce Clemens (York, Pa.) finished with 10 digs.

Penn State pulled out to 13-9 lead following a triple block by Matt Callaway, Nugent and Hammond, prompting a UC-Irvine timeout. The Anteaters would rally back to take the lead at 21-20 over the Lions before taking the set 25-23 on a kill from Jason Agopian.

Following UC-Irvine leading the second set at 11-10, Penn State 15-9 run to end the set and knot things up at 1-1 after the second set.

Penn State did not trail at any point for the final two sets winning the third and fourth sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-17 to take the match and end their four game losing streak.

Penn State will wrap up its 11-game home stand with matches against Lewis on Friday Mar. 25 and Loyola on Saturday Mar. 26 with a first whistle slated for 7:00 p.m. both nights. The Penn State vs. Loyola match will broadcast on BTN.
