UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Junior Kiera Brown (Newport News, Va.) received regular season All-America honors from the National Association of College Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NACGCW) Friday. Brown was named a second team All-American on the uneven bars.

"When Kiera came to Penn State, we knew that she was one of the best uneven bar workers in the NCAA," head coach Jeff Thompson said. "We are thrilled that, not only is she the 2016 Big Ten Co-Champion on the event; but, now she is leaving her legacy as the 93rd All-American in Penn State women's gymnastics history."

In 2013 the NACGCW started announcing regular season All-America honors.

Sharaya Musser was named a regular season All-American in the all-around (second team) and the balance beam (first team) in 2013 and in 2014, Kassidy Stauder was named a second team All-American on the balance beam.

During her first season with the Nittany Lions in 2016, Brown has won/tied for seven uneven bars titles. At the 2016 Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships, Brown tied for the uneven bars title with her score of 9.950. Brown has notched a 9.950 on the uneven bars twice this season, which is tied for the third-best score in program history.

Brown is currently tied for 11th in the nation on the uneven bars with her regional qualifying score (RQS) of 9.915. She is also the lone Big Ten representative receiving All-America honors on the uneven bars.

Earlier this season, Brown was named to the first team All-Big Ten.

The Nittany Lions are back in action next Saturday, April 2, at the 2016 NCAA Regionals in Ann Arbor, Mich. The meet is slated for a 6 p.m. start inside the Crisler Center.

Competing against the Nittany Lions in the Ann Arbor Regional will be No. 6 Auburn, No. 7 Michigan, No. 18 Stanford, No. 24 Eastern Michigan and No. 33 New Hampshire.
