Sauter Named Academic All-EIVA

BRONXVILE, N.Y. - Redshirt Junior Spencer Sauter has earned a spot on the Academic All-EIVA team, as announced by the conference this Wednesday afternoon. Sauter joins 15 other student athletes from the other conference schools on the squad.

This year, Sauter has recorded 161 kills averaging 2.30 per set while adding 97 digs and 39 total blocks.

To be eligible for Academic All-EIVA honors, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and have participated in at least 60 percent of the matches played by their team.

Top-seeded Penn State men's volleyball (19-9, 12-2) is set to host the 2016 EIVA Championship this week. The Nittany Lions open the event with a semifinal matchup against fourth-seeded Saint Francis (Pa.) Thursday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Rec Hall. No. 2 George Mason and No. 3 Harvard will square off in the earlier semifinal match at 5 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 12 and younger. Group tickets are available at a discounted rate of $5 for groups of 20 or more with an advance sale. Admission is free of charge to any student from all four participating institutions with a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-NITTANY or at the door on gameday.
