WBB Announces Non-Conference Slate

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Eight home tilts, three true road game and a trip to the San Juan Shootout all highlight the 2016-17 non-conference schedule for head coach Coquese Washington and the Penn State women's basketball program.

The Lady Lions open the regular season on the road for just the third time in Washington's tenure, traveling to Drexel on Friday, Nov. 11 to open the season. This will be the first road opener for the program since traveling to the University of Dayton to begin 2010-11.

Four straight home games lead the team into a Thanksgiving trip to Puerto Rico, beginning with the home opener on Sunday, Nov. 13 against St. Peter's University. A home date with Akron is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 16, before the Lady Lions host 2016 NCAA Elite Eight qualifier Tennessee at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, Nov. 20. After hosting NCAA participant St. Bonaventure on Tuesday, Nov. 22, the program heads to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a pair of game in the San Juan Shootout.

While on the Caribbean island, the Lady Lions will face Georgia State of the Sun Belt Conference on Friday, Nov. 25 and BIG EAST foe Georgetown on Saturday, Nov. 26. Upon returning to the states, a trip to Chestnut Hill, Mass. and a date with Boston College awaits on Wednesday, Nov. 30 for the 10th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The fourth game in nine days will bring the Lady Lions back to the Bryce Jordan Center for a tilt against Marshall on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The final road trip of the non-conference season will come on Wednesday, Dec. 7 in the form of another trip to Massachusetts and a game at Holy Cross. The final three non-conference games will keep the Lady Lions in Happy Valley, beginning with the Saturday, Dec. 10 meeting with former Penn State point guard Suzie McConnell-Serio's Pittsburgh squad. American University will come to the University Park campus on Sunday, Dec. 18, while Iona will serve as the final tune-up prior to the beginning of Big Ten play on Dec. 21.

Catch Every Game
Season tickets for the 2016-17 season are on sale now and feature three price points; courtside, sideline and baseline. Available season tickets range in price from $95 (baseline) to $120 (sideline) and $260 (courtside). The Recent Graduate program returns for a second season and features two options; a $65 baseline package and the $84 sideline package.

New season ticket holders that place a deposit byFriday, June 24 will be able to participate in the Virtual Venue seat selection, which ensures the best locations in the Bryce Jordan Center.

B1G Opponents
On Monday (June 20), the Big Ten Conference announced the home and away opponents for the upcoming 2016-17 conference season. The Lady Lions will meet each of the 13 conference schools at least once during the 16-game conference slate, with three home-and-home meetings among them.

Home: Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin
Away: Maryland, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers
Home & Away: Illinois, Indiana, Purdue
