EUGENE, Ore. - Friday's schedule at Historic Hayward Field featured two Nittany Lions in action as Robby Creese and Mahagony Jones wrapped up action in their respective events at the 2016 U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials.
Jones, a 2013 Penn State graduate, stepped to the track for the prelims of the women's 200-meters.
Represented by New Balance, Jones ran her prelim in the same heat as the reigning Olympic champion at 200-meters Allyson Felix who won the heat in a time of 22.93 followed by Jones' time of 23.63.
Jones finished the prelims with the 29th best time of the day narrowly missing prelims by less than half a second.
Wrapping up action at the Olympic Trials for Penn State was Robby Creese in the semi-finals of the men's 1,500-meters.
Creese, who qualified for the semi-finals yesterday with his time of 3:42.89, took 21st-place today in the event with a time of 3:51.06 to cap his career in the Blue & White.
This concludes action at the Olympic Trials for Penn State who qualified two alumni through to the Rio Olympics in the shot put (Joe Kovacs, Darrell Hill).
