Women's Soccer Announces 2016 Promotional Schedule

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -
The No. 2 Penn State women's soccer team has announced its 2016 home promotional schedule, which begins Friday, Aug. 19, as it hosts No. 6 West Virginia at 7:30 p.m.

Admission and parking for all women's soccer events are free. Fans are reminded that there is a no bag policy in place on stadium grounds.

Prior to Friday night's match, fans will be able to take a photo with both 2015 Big Ten trophies and the 2015 NCAA trophy. At halftime, the Nittany Lions are scheduled to honor Penn State women's soccer alumni that are in attendance.

Fans that attend Friday night's contest, can receive a copy of the 2016 schedule poster, a decal of the Penn State women's soccer crest for the first 1,250 fans, and there will be free pizza and t-shirts for the first 500 Penn State students.

The Nittany Lions continue their season-opening homestand Sunday, Aug. 21, against Hofstra. Prior to the Hofstra match, the Nittany Lions will have a tailgate for the Centre Soccer Association. Following the Hofstra match, the Nittany Lions will be hosting their first of three Sunday autograph sessions.

Penn State closes out its season-opening homestand with a whiteout against the BYU Cougars on Friday, Aug. 26. Fans are encouraged to wear white and while supplies last fans will receive a shaker.

PSU closes out its non-conference portion of the season with San Diego State (Sept. 9) and La Salle (Sept. 11). The match against SDSU is International Students night and Pokémon GO night. Following the match against La Salle, Penn State will have its second autograph session of the season.

The Blue and White return home for Big Ten play against Iowa on Friday, Sept. 23. The Iowa match kicks off the B1G Package for Penn State students. Penn State students who attend five of six Big Ten regular season home matches will receive a pair of Penn State women's soccer gloves.

The final autograph session of the season is set to take place on Sept. 25 when the Nittany Lions play the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Penn State hosts its final Friday night contest of the season on Sept. 30 against Illinois. The Illinois match is Friday Night Futbol, Cub Club night and Dollar Dog night.

The Nittany Lions are set to welcome the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to Jeffrey Field in a Thursday night clash on Oct. 13. The match against the Scarlet Knights is THON Thursday and Throwback Thursday.

Penn State will honor its lone senior of the 2016 season, Nickolette Driesse (Wayne, N.J.), against the Purdue Boilermakers on Oct. 16.

PSU closes out the regular season with a Wednesday night contest against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Oct. 26. The Ohio State match concludes the B1G Package for Penn State students.
