CHICAGO -- The United States U-20 Women's National Team is scheduled to host an almost three-week training camp and partake in three matches at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, Sept. 1-19. Penn State leads the 20-member roster with five representatives.
Rose Chandler (Atlanta, Ga.), Maddie Elliston (Omaha, Neb.), Ellie Jean (Coventry, Conn.), Emily Ogle (Strongsville, Ohio) and Kaleigh Riehl (Fairfax Station, Va.) will head to the U.S. Soccer National Training Center to train with the U.S. U-20 WNT.
Along with the training camp, the U.S. U-20 WNT will host Brazil (Sept. 18), England (Sept. 16) and the Korea Republic (Sept. 14) in the 2016 U-20 Women's NTC Invitational.
Penn State women's soccer has been well-represented throughout the 2016 calendar year on the U.S. U-20 WNT as Chandler, Elliston, Ogle and Riehl will be making their fifth appearance at a U.S. U-20 WNT domestic training camp. The four Nittany Lions attended U.S. U-20 training camps in Carson, California (January), Lakewood Ranch, Florida (April), Efland, North Carolina (June) and Chula Vista, California (July). The upcoming camp marks Jean's fourth domestic training camp in 2016 with the U.S. U-20 WNT.
The Nittany Lion quintet also took part in the La Manga Tournament in La Manga, Spain, in March and traveled to Papua New Guinea for a training camp and a pair of matches, May 21-June 1.
The 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup is scheduled to take place in Papua New Guinea, Nov. 13-Dec. 3.
